Savvy Storage

Here's proof that even a tiny space can be phenomenally organized

Right here are some tips for getting more out of you closet space :

When winter is done it's time to think about what to do with those bulky jackets, sweaters, and boots. There is no need for those bad boys to steal prime hanging or shelf space in your closet. Instead, stash them in a large cardboard box on the top shelf. You can pick up a simple storage box and sass it up with wallpaper. Or go vintage..

Check your grandmothers and mothers basement for old gift boxes and repurpose them. Also check antique stores- you're bound to find at least one of two of these laying around.

Hidden behind the hanging clothes on the back wall these great coat hooks double as smart storage for your belts and scarves. Tap into unused space and utilize all that you can!

Eliminate mystery drawers and keep similar things together by organizing labeled linen boxes. You can purchase a variety of sizes to accommodate different items {the small boxes are a great solution for items such as sunglasses, bangles, and folded scarves}.

And when all else fails, there is always under the bed storage options! Whether you are looking to store out of season clothes in rubbermaid bins where no one can see or use classic wicker baskets for a cozy organized look both are there to help. :)

Atlanta Spotlight

Hidden Talent, No Longer Hidden

Home from the beautiful Atlanta and ready to catch up on lots of POSH things- one being a fashion enthusiast that's on the rise. One of my dearest friends in my middle school years and still a precious friend in my life is nearing her completion of Art studies and is making her mark on the Atlanta fashion market. While coming in contact with the President of The Vera Company she was offered the chance to showcase her work at the Anthropologie store opening in Midtown Altanta. Anthro was dedicating a section of the store to be the "Vera boutique" (The Vera company has a line created just for Anthro called We Love Vera) and they were looking for a local artist to create and design pieces to be featured in the store opening showcased line. My friend Jordan was offered the spot, she of course accepted and went to work creating precious clutches! They exude beauty just like their creator! Here she is with her little show stoppers at the store opening party:

Jordan's clutches in the We Love Vera collection @ Anthro. Small $98, Large $118
{if you are interested in purchasing a clutch please contact Jordan @ jprowl2723@gmail.com}

{New Anthro On Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta}

From the debut Jordan has gained a fabulous response and recognition/write ups from StyleCourt blog, Fashionbeauty.com, Westside Urban Market's newsletter, The Vera Company's blog, NGCSU (where Jordan studies Art) newspaper, and the AJC. Moreover Miss Jordan Rowland is ready to strut her stuff and show what she can do! I cannot wait to see where her talents and designs take her. Keep a close eye on this one, I have a feeling more POSH things are just around the corner!

GREAT BLUE PAINTS

Brilliant Blues

Whether it's the pale sky blue or a handsome deep navy, blue is a color that effortlessly stays strong in the design world. Not everyone is in agreement with covering their walls in a desired hue, plenty of designers and clients prefer white walls with the weight of color incorporated through furnishings, art, and accessories. For those of you who love painting....proceed with caution! I have a love-hate relationship with paint. Like any color, applying just the right blue to the walls can be a nightmare. Paint can be so tricky, picking the right color is can be such a task. Here I'll give you the best blues around!

1. Farrow and Ball Chinese Blue 2. Benjamin Moore Paddington Blue 3. Sherwin Williams Verditer Blue 4. Dunn Edwards After The Storm 5. Benjamin Moore Patriot Blue 6. Pratt and Lambert Blueberry Myrtille

Book Smart: The Soul Of A House

Add it to your library

From the publishers note:
"From best-selling author and design icon Chris Madden comes the first book on her design philosophy, and how to achieve her comfortable, chic style. Design expert Chris Madden has spent years chronicling other people’s beautiful rooms. Now, for the first time, she presents her own design sensibility as illustrated by examples such as her elegant one hundred-year-old carriage house in upstate New York and a mid-century modern family getaway in the mountains of Vermont. Organized by type of room, each house is explored—from entryways to bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, mudrooms, greenhouses, and terraces, as well as specialty rooms like yoga studios and a man’s study—through rich photography and dozens of practical styling tips. Readers learn how to layer fabrics and colors for seasonal decorating; how to repurpose materials; and how to recognize a room’s quality of light. Also featured are sidebars on caring for guests, collecting, and living in an old house versus a modern house. An avid gardener, Madden explores the way outdoor space frames and supports a house. This lush and elegant volume is an eminently practical resource of ideas for creating rooms in which to celebrate family, entertain friends, and provide personal sanctuary."
