ROMANTIC GETAWAYS: KAUAI

St. Regis. Princeville
Kauai, Hawaii

Valentines may be over but the romance must go on! The rest of this week's posts will be dedicated to my favorite romantic tropical getaways. Get ready for some seriously steamy places to escape to with your love.
First up on the list is the St. Regis Princeville on Kauai, Hawaii. Kauai, like all of the Hawaiian islands offers pristine ocean views, gorgeous garden habitat, and endless outdoor adventures. For active couples this dreamy island will serve as a relaxing retreat and an adventurous getaway. Outdoor activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, incredible hiking with trails to waterfalls with views that will blow your mind, golf, windsurfing, fishing, and horseback riding. Amazing outdoor activities aside, at this resort you will certainly be drawn to simply lie on the beach or at the pool and enjoy scenery so pretty it's no wonder it has shown up in a long list of TV shows and movies. Regardless of how you choose to spend your days, the luxurious St. Regis is sure to meet all your romantic requirements! Tell me you wouldn't trade yesterdays chocolates and flowers for a trip to a heavenly oasis like this... that's what I thought. The traveling continues tomorrow as we head to the next romantic escape be sure to stick around!

MAGNIFICENT MONSTERA

If you know me well then you know it's no secret I have a love affair with monstera leaves. Ever since arriving on island I've fallen madly in love with this plant and it's foliage. It's enormous size and perfectly coastal vibe is what gets me the most. I feel as though I'm walking through a rain forrest every time I see one. This creeping vine is native to tropical rainforests of southern Mexico, hints why I would experience this rainforest illusion. They are magical beauties with plentiful posh punch. Adding any kind of live foliage to a room instantly gives it life. Easily transform a dull space into an inviting oasis with a quick drop of monstera leaves or palms to a vase. Whether they are draped on a table cloth or nestled together in a formal arrangement for an event monsteras tell a story of nature and it's wonders. I resemble a small child while watching our monstera plant grow in our backyard here in Hawaii. I swear I count each new leaf as it comes in! Cannot wait to add my very own monsteras to our home..

SIT AND STAY A WHILE

The Panama armchair and table [in bronze] by
one of my favorite outdoor furniture companies, Dedon.

Hawaii embraces the aloha way of life... happiness, relaxation, and most importantly, no worries. It's such a refreshing lifestyle and way of spending everyday. In the workplace or out on the town people are completely relaxed and slow paced. They are taking in the most beautiful moments Hawaii has to offer. It is so easy to fall in love with the island's outlook and attitude on life. Hawaii is the absolute perfect place for peacefulness. Adventure is always just a trail or wave away but the sand always welcomes you to just sit and stay awhile. Excitement or ease is up to you just live the aloha way...

COOLING DOWN WITH COOL TONES

I cannot seem to get away from these colors no matter what I do. I'm surrounded by them in the sky and the water here in Hawaii, then I go to work and all people want in their home is shades of blue and turqiouse.. not to mention some of the most amazing vintage bowls, vases and glassware that I'm finding on island are of the same hues. Cool tones are refreshing and relaxing. No matter who you are these colors are sure to soothe your soul. Happy Wednesday darlings!

ISLAND ESSENTIALS

Nars Lip Lacquer in Hot Wired, click here
On the go or on the water, this lacquer is up for the challenge.
*I always recommend using spf balm on lips whenever in the sun for protection and it's the perfect base for the lacquer

India Hicks Island Living Soap, click here
The islands in soap form. Silky smooth and completely addicting scent. With nourishing mango and avacado and moisturizing almond, olive and coconut oil. Just try it once!

Smith's Rosebud Salve, click here
It's aquaphor [which I swear by] but in a compact. This multipurpose balm soothes, calms, and heals any dry areas such as lips, elbows, or knees. Definite must-have!

Kenra Leave In Conditioner, click here
This may be my number one island essential. Kenra leave in conditioner for all hair types. I have long, straight, fine hair and lots of it. I refuse to avoid the translucent soothing salt water just to have silky hair. Solution: the contents of this magical bottle. This protecting and calming conditioner is a golden ticket to beach wavy, and healthy I might add, hair! Spritz on before and after indulging in Hawaii water.

Tickle me pink...
Here's one of the most sensational places to spend some shut eye and heavenly Hawaii moments. The Royal Hawaiian not only offers the life of luxury but precise Aloha spirit. Complete with a purely pink facade and delicious lounging, dining, and sleeping arrangements this hotel is sure to sweep you off your feet. Boasting phenomenal sights and smells of that which the islands offer, the RH has been designed to bring the outdoors in. And rightly so- with a low of 72, high of 85 year round why wouldn't you maximize any opportunity to enjoy the heavenly weather? Not only with a smart design but stylish one, the colors and textures used throughout this hotel have a definite POSH flair. Like I said... Beware, once you go Royal Hawaiian you never go back.
