MELROSE STOP: KELLY WEARSTLER FLAGSHIP STORE

With ongoing projects, company in town, and an island beckoning you every second there are times when blogging just must standby. Sorry for the later part of last week, it slipped away from me! Back on our Melrose stroll we go. :) Next stop, KW flagship store... Holy storefront. It moved me exactly how I hoped it would. She's a master of texture and movement. Just the elements used on the facade are impressively striking full of  intrigue. Her creations have this power of interest woven into them. Check out the jewels on that door pull. The level of thought, passion, and heart that goes into her work is what I admire the most. She pushes the limits and never leaves you desiring more. Kelly Wearstler creations are that which ignite a fire, they pull at you in many ways. Moreover, visiting her store is an experience not just a vision of inspired retail space. If you can, you must go see it for yourself and try to put into words what takes place in the creative corner of your mind. All I can say is more, kw please give us more!

MELROSE STOP: JONATHAN ADLER, PART 2

Following up from yesterday's take on JA Melrose, today's photos bring the view from my eyes on the store's room vignettes. Full of texture, pattern, and bold colors each room boasts many things that will entertain your eyes. Pattern layering is among my favorite things that has been applied to each space here. Rich interest is always created when layering patterns, different combinations move you to feel certain things. The classic JA style is bright and cheerful which never gets old to me. I always find new inspiration in different ways from his creations no matter how many times I've seen them.

MELROSE STOP: JONATHAN ADLER

First place I want to take you from my travels on  Melrose is JA. Think color, color, color. Anything Adler is usually thought of when vibrant and fun designs are the topic. His stores are filled with fully saturated hues of the entire color wheel. I admire his interpretation of animals when he creates accessories. Peek back at the third photo from top, the green room  the elephant lamp bases with the tusks coming through to be the finial and the gold birds with their unique shapes. In these photos I was mostly capturing my  moments of adoration for either something shiny or his accessory pieces. This store is sensory delight for me. More hues and views from JA tomorrow, too! xo

BIRTHDAY BREAK

San Diego

There are different reasons for a break in blogging but more often than not it's due to needing an inspiration recharge or to traveling. This time it's travel! I'm heading East to California for some playtime with the husband for my birthday. He's taking me up the coast for a few weeks starting in SD. I may be checking in from time to time but don't expect any big posts until after April 22. Once back in Hawaii I will pick up right where I left off and continue the normal posts! For now, it's time to soak up the SoCal sun along with a generous amount of coastal views on our road trip up the California coast.

Aloha and lots of love readers!

CLEARLY IN LOVE

Here is, yet again, another one of my clear love affairs. This time, the plexi-craft Z chair has got my heart racing. Full of style and surprising comfort don't dare knock it until you sit in it this terrific translucent chair is sure to win you over. Pair it with a more traditional table and end chairs as shown here you get a look that covers both ends of the map. The lighting fixture in this room is definitely wrong, doesn't hold it's own in the room and it's not my taste, but otherwise this room is oozing with posh elements. Is it hard to see why I'm clearly in love??

Aloha!

WELL LIT

I'm absolutely loving the new outlet my WELL LIT posts have brought on. I have a moderate obsession with lighting so it seemed only natural to find yet another way to share favorites with you more consistently! Our second ever WELL LIT post goes to none other than Jonathan Adler's 2 tier ventana fixture. With glitz and glamour this chandelier is a well balanced mixture of classic and contemporary. To another WELL LIT space from gorgeous lighting-

GRAY DAY

Dior Gray
Benjamin Moore

Gray Mirage
Benjamin Moore

A gray day doesn't mean a gloomy day. Fill a room with this hue and find yourself basking in it's glory. Gray isn't too cold neither too warm, it's a comfortable neutral with tons of style. Try one of these M+P tested paint colors above and you'll see what I mean. Go get gray...
