COZY COASTAL DINING

Heading into the dining room today to examine this pretty little space! The reclaimed wood table with simple low back wicker arm chairs gives off a wonderful & casual relaxed vibe. With a touch of formal from the chandelier, art, and welted fabric chair cushions the space gets a bit dressed up and has a solid style sense. By keeping the table, chairs, and chandelier all the same neutral and earthy color tone, this room is  soothing and effortlessly harmonized. Overall, this dining area is the perfect cozy coastal spot to enjoy a meal with loved ones. Cheers to pretty coastal style!

BEACH ART

Beach art doesn't have to mean wave photography or scenes of sand dunes at sunset, it can be so many other things. Personally, a more modern take on art is always my go to. I love these black framed fish swimming in both directions on the wall. While keeping these photos neutral in color and exactly the same size it's a fresh and clean approach on beach art.  These photos give the illusion of movement and the dark frames add strong lines to the space. Also, a more dramatic effect was created with how high these pieces are hung. More coastal art to come as I find inspiration..

BOOK SMART: COASTAL MODERN

Coastal Modern by Tim Clarke

It's been awhile since I posted about a good read and after digging into this one over the weekend I had to share! Today's feature is the perfect choice for a little book smart design session. Whether you like coastal decor or not this read has plenty of inspiring elements for all design tastes. Dive into some sensational spaces and drift away to the sand and the sea. Happy reading!

"Coastal Modern shares my aesthetic of breezy elegance in more than 250 transporting photographs by award-winning photographer Noah Webb (Dwell, Vanity Fair, Travel + Leisure). These pages feature dozens of seamlessly connected indoor/outdoor spaces (many with jaw dropping views) and sprawling rooms with clean lines, organic shapes and materials, a mix of textures and colors inspired by the sea and the sand." - Notes from Tim Clarke website

SIT AND STAY A WHILE

The Panama armchair and table [in bronze] by
one of my favorite outdoor furniture companies, Dedon.

Hawaii embraces the aloha way of life... happiness, relaxation, and most importantly, no worries. It's such a refreshing lifestyle and way of spending everyday. In the workplace or out on the town people are completely relaxed and slow paced. They are taking in the most beautiful moments Hawaii has to offer. It is so easy to fall in love with the island's outlook and attitude on life. Hawaii is the absolute perfect place for peacefulness. Adventure is always just a trail or wave away but the sand always welcomes you to just sit and stay awhile. Excitement or ease is up to you just live the aloha way...

Happy Monday

COOLING DOWN WITH COOL TONES

I cannot seem to get away from these colors no matter what I do. I'm surrounded by them in the sky and the water here in Hawaii, then I go to work and all people want in their home is shades of blue and turqiouse.. not to mention some of the most amazing vintage bowls, vases and glassware that I'm finding on island are of the same hues. Cool tones are refreshing and relaxing. No matter who you are these colors are sure to soothe your soul. Happy Wednesday darlings!

ISLAND ESSENTIALS

Nars Lip Lacquer in Hot Wired, click here
On the go or on the water, this lacquer is up for the challenge.
*I always recommend using spf balm on lips whenever in the sun for protection and it's the perfect base for the lacquer

India Hicks Island Living Soap, click here
The islands in soap form. Silky smooth and completely addicting scent. With nourishing mango and avacado and moisturizing almond, olive and coconut oil. Just try it once!

Smith's Rosebud Salve, click here
It's aquaphor [which I swear by] but in a compact. This multipurpose balm soothes, calms, and heals any dry areas such as lips, elbows, or knees. Definite must-have!

Kenra Leave In Conditioner, click here
This may be my number one island essential. Kenra leave in conditioner for all hair types. I have long, straight, fine hair and lots of it. I refuse to avoid the translucent soothing salt water just to have silky hair. Solution: the contents of this magical bottle. This protecting and calming conditioner is a golden ticket to beach wavy, and healthy I might add, hair! Spritz on before and after indulging in Hawaii water.
