Kips Bay SH, New York City {Penthouse Floor Level}

Up up up we go

All the way to the PH floor. We finally made it! After Emily and I went through the house and looked through this floor we stopped, looked at each other and said we have to do it again...And we did. :) We didn't want to miss a beat and knew that our eyes were trying to take so much in the first time seeing the house so we walked back through a second time. It was a fantastic idea, we had a new perspective seeing it a second time and caught things we missed the first go around. I think we both could have spent a whole day in the house! As you can see from the floor plan below the PH floor offers a grand space for Jennifer Post to display three brilliant designs. On the back side of the house is a spa room, then the middle is a very spacious sitting/living area, and then the front of the mansion is an outside rooftop area. All three are spectacular!

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed getting a tour of the NYC Kips Bay show house! I had a blast going to see it and sharing it with you! Next show house on the list is the Washington Design Center's design house. Can't wait to show you the sensational designs displayed there. Stay tuned, I'll have it up soon!

Kips Bay SH, New York City {Fourth Floor Level}

Back to the Kips Bay show house
Sorry for the brief pause in coverage of the show house, had a couple of things I needed to squeeze in over the holidays! But back to the jaw dropping design we go. We pick back up on the 4th floor of the house and have still two more to reveal. From the floor plan shown below this floor dons four inspirational rooms to fall in love with. Check them out...

As you walk up the winding stairway you come to this landing.. which is perfectly and tastefully full of attitude! I would LOVE to read and work in this space. It just has an air about it, gleaming with color and exciting textures.

The master bedroom had definite touches of old hollywood coming through the overall feel. I could crawl up in this bed everyday in a heartbeat. My eyes enjoyed the lightweight white fabrics that covered the room with a romantic foundation.

All and all this was one of my favorite floors...but HOW can you pick a favorite in this place, I mean come on.
Hope you are anxious for the 2 floors left! They will blow your socks off just like the ones thus far-

XO

Kips Bay SH, NYC {Second Floor Level}

Working our way up the floors.....

Emily and I loved each of these rooms on the second floor. Once again though, pictures do not do this place justice....You have to be in them to feel the splendor of the design. Each floor seriously left me speechless. The second level awaits the dining room and library, have a look

Keep coming back for the next floor
Promise each one is knock out

Kips Bay SH, New York City {Street Floor Level}

Street Level Bliss
Welcome to the 2010 Kips Bay Showhouse

Home and ecstatic to write!! Girls trip to NYC was a success! Emily and I were met by perfectly sunny skies and crisp city air. We had a blast and encountered plenty of wonderful adventures! Top on the list of course is our visit to the annual extremely anticipated, Kips Bay showhouse displaying 20 top designers work. The only way I think I can display this house best is by breaking it down by each floor. Have to preface by saying I can't tell you enough how much this house absolutely positively rocks your socks off while you are standing in it and NONE of the following pictures do it justice, no matter how lovely they are. With that being said let's get this drool session started...

The 10,000 square-foot limestone mansion {located in Upper East Side only 3 blocks from Central Park} seemed as merely an illusion of the perfect city chic abode. But alas not an illusion instead a tangible invitation to endless posh worthy rooms awaiting my eyes arrival. Wait no longer you beauty, Mallorie and Em are here...

The front doors open to the dramatic entryway, suited brilliantly for such a space. Setting the stage for the rest of the house this entryway donning Katie Rider wallpaper is the ideal stamp of personality. The brightly painted trim sports Benjamin Moore "Autumn Cover" paint color ..perfect for the season we are in.

Just off the entryway is a petite room designed by Brett Design Inc. The wild snakeskin patterned wallpaper is part of Brett Design's unique collection of transparent wallpapers.

Down the hall at the back of the house is the kitchen and eating room. Dressing the room in purple, {one of the most hot and up in coming colors right now in interior design} Eve Robinson Associates captivated it beautifully and carefully in this space. Balancing the purple hues out with clean white trim and white cabinets was definitely the ticket here in my opinion.

Just off the kitchen and eating area is a door to the outside patio and lawn area. Gorgeously adorned with draped twinkle lights the length of the porch and the mirror surrounded lawn below is a fairytale spot for dining or an intimate party. This wraps up the street level floor of the showhouse. Have so so much more to show you so STAY TUNED... it will only get better and better as we move up each floor in the house! Check back soon... ;)
