HANDSOME HOME, ED MARCH
via Elle Decor
Combine this fashion stylists impeccable high class taste with her rock & roll spirit and you get one ridiculously awesome Upper East Side Manhattan apartment. Jackie Asteir is her name and high style is her game. She's styled musicians including Alanis Morisette, The Spice Girls, Tupac, and Enrique Iglesias. Astier has also been stylist for portraits covering over a dozen different major fashion magazines around the world.
As I was flipping through a couple month old Elle Decor I realized I never shared this space with you readers that I sincerely adored so I had to do it before I forgot a second time. Take a tour through Jackie's palatial New York pad. Things to notice: widely diverse and stunning wall coverings, the use of metals, and heavy lacquered paints on walls and ceilings.

HOT SEAT
Summer is here and with that usually means parties and company. Extra seating is always something to be considered around a house that will be entertaining. These moroccan poufs are perfect as extra seating, a footstool, or an ottoman. These multi-taskers can by mixed with a range of styles. They can add a punch of color and eclectic taste or be a neutral piece that blends into a softer room. Let this hot seat lend you an extra hand in time for your summer soiree!

BACKYARD BEAUTY
Nothing like a gorgeously pieced together table, and nothing says posh like paying attention to details. This backyard dining arrangement has been set with all the goods for a quaint dinner to be had, for sharing laughs and stories over a beautiful spread of aquas and greens. Dinner parties with our friends are something my husband and I enjoy too much to wait for the weekend to do but certainly weekends in Hawaii usually present the perfect excuse! Happy weekend loves!

RAVISHING RAE
Holy Sofa. My darling Rae, I'm so glad you finally decided to show up, I was beginning to think I'd never find the perfect tufted shelter sofa. Thank God my search will cease to exist after this moment!
...Isn't she beautiful?! Over the top but not overwhelming. She's equally sassy, classy, and drenched in sophisticated style. Upholstered in velvet this sofa can do no wrong. I leave you this Friday with a posh piece to get your weekend off to an inspired start!

HIGH GLOSS BLACK
Lonny and I have a common love for glossy black.. but lets be honest, how hard is it to have that in common? My favorite applications of high gloss black is on furniture, walls & trim- although, I envision it most on furniture pieces. I got bit by the glossy black bug at a young age. I was around age 9 when I first really started paying attention to furniture that spoke to me. I used to tag along with my mother for hours and hours of antiquing in Atlanta, it was something I looked forward to so much. She knew all the best places...and everyone who ran them. My mother is that kind of southern woman who literally knows every soul in town. She doesn't meet a stranger. From our trips I learned an enormous amount about furniture quality, finishes, hardware, and most importantly, potential. It takes a specific visionary eye to see just any armoire, end table, or sofa in the right perspective and grasp the setting for which it should & could be used. I can remember just like yesterday the first time I spotted a vintage buffet that I dreamed of stripping down to the bones and reviving it with a smooth, rich new hue. And to this day of course, my mind goes off into color craze land with even brand new pieces. Over and over again I see something that speaks to me but I just need it in a different finish to achieve perfection. High gloss black is among one of the most popular colors my head gravitates to. Who else is in the HGB high gloss black club?? Well there's a little color love to start your week off!

MELROSE STOP: NATHAN TURNER
His eclectic taste and world travels have given him superb vision for designing for celebrities and interior enthusiasts alike.
While being filmed on the Bravo reality show 'Million Dollar Decorators', Nathan Turner won the sweet boy slot and your attention for marrying different styles to create one well dressed home. The California based Turner has an exceptionally cute store/studio on Melrose that of course made my list of 'stop ins'. As you can see everything from rich textiles to fantastic accessories are available in the store. With home goods hand selected by Turner's travels to Europe, Morocco, and more, you're sure to find a piece or two that speaks to you! More photos to come of the store tomorrow...
