Night in at the Washington Design Center

Design Center's from east coast to west coast love an excuse to throw and host events in celebration of any noteworthy design happenings. In this case, a party was definitely in order at the W. Design Center as our lobby makeover was just completed this week. Last night was the unveiling celebration of the glistening space by DC native interior designer Gary Lovejoy. Our lobby now dons an uncluttered, bright space with an emphasis on statement accessories. The space gleams natural colors and modernistic touches appropriate for representing our design center. There were phenomenal textures and elements used to excite the eyes and complete the space...I'll explain more in a second. Without further ado {drumroll please!!....}
Our New Lobby

Love at first sight! The floor to ceiling panels are the perfect WOW factor in this space. Amazing effect. Great choice.

The "bubble" chandelier, circular tables, and round backs on the chairs create wonderful movement in the room. Love what they offer this space.

Absolutely adore this screen. I'm a huge fan of encorporating mirrors in almost any design. They are a fantastic piece because of the light reflected off of them and the instant expanding/enlarging of a room once applied. Mirrors are essentials in my design rulebook!

Now a few shots from the party with some of my favorite people in DC

Hope you enjoyed a night in at the WDC! We sure enjoyed the celebration :) Happy Friday to all!
Ciao for now...

Let's be honest there is something so refreshing and relaxing about a crisp white kitchen. When thinking about preparing and storing food an all white kitchen is such a wonderfully simple space for the task. And for all you worriers about keeping it clean there are plenty of fantastic surfaces and cleaning solutions that make an all white kitchen almost better than any other! Embrace this monochromatic scheme my friends. By mixing different textures, elements & surfaces you can make the space exciting and inviting. Whether traditional or mod these kitchens are quite possibly the best dressed ones around! Take a look....

Anybody wanting a clean new look yet?! Hope you are inspired to embrace & enjoy simplicity. Did you get a soothing fresh vibe from these kitchens like I did?

Posh Pools

Hope everyone's holiday was wonderful. :) Well, Labor Day has come and gone and cooler weather is just around the corner. Time to trade in the lazy days by the pool for down time on the chaise cuddling up with the husband to watch espn gameday & college football! First, let's go back though and see the most luxurious pools in the look book. I'd like to say I tanned my bod at each one of these posh pools but I'll have to save that checklist for next summer I guess...

Ryan and I spent our Labor Day weekend in NYC instead of by the pool. Up later this week will be some New York design thoughts and inspirations so stay tuned! Until then, back to another work week at the W. Design Center. Love!
