ATLANTA HOME REMODEL

Front Elevation Before

Exuding in southern hospitality and charm this Atlanta home is exactly why I adore my roots. Staying true to traditional elegance and classic style is what it's all about in the southeast. This Georgia cottage shows so much character and warmth. ...Hope you enjoyed traveling to the south! Offering beauty, excitement and love, Atlanta is a wonderful place to visit or live. If you've never been it's a city that should be added to your bucket list for sure!

ROOM OF THE DAY: COLORFUL CORNER

By using small accents like the pillows and light coverings lots of color was successfully incorporated while still being easy to switch out, depending on occasion or mood. The lattice brings character and cozy privacy, but doesn't completely close off the outdoors. Remember small items can make a big impact... the little details make all the difference.

COASTAL COLORS: NEUTRAL, NATURAL

One glance at rolling dunes or dramatic driftwood logs and you'll appreciate the richness of neutral colors. Designer mind/Quick tips for a neutral scheme: 1. Woven and wood furniture with modern lines offer elegant interest to a monochromatic palette.2. A dose of linen and burlap are ideal for coastal spaces- their well suited for everything from tablecloths and Roman shades to bedding and upholstery. 3. As for the walls, one must not forget about a natural hue of grasscloth- it gives depth and texture.. the visual interest is fabulous. Happy Monday loves!

DIY: TRANSFORMATION HEADBOARD

Take your tired, throwaway bed frame and change into a sassy little settee! Cut the footboard in half vertically and fasten one half to each end of the headboard using screws and wood glue. For the seat and front rail, cut pieces of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and attach using screws and wood glue. After sanding and painting, stylize the new settee back/old headboard with nail head trim. Lastly, and most importantly, find a fun & fresh fabric for the cushion and pillows. Use a foam pad and batting wrapped in your fabric for a comfy seat. Ta da! Look at you being all crafty ;)

INSPIRATIONAL ANIMAL

In essence a horse encompasses three main things. Strength, power, & beauty. ...Not too bad of a character list. Being around horses is a love of mine that I do not entertain enough. I grew up riding them and miss the time with them tremendously when I think back on those memories. In addition to those beginning three traits horses are incredibly graceful and serene. It's an amazing sight to watch a horse gallup through a pasture, they seem to exude a special peace yet steady and strong confidence. It's no wonder people desire to incorporate such an inspirational animal into their space. I personally gravitate to the animal anyway but when it's a captivating photography or painting of the creature I sort of get whisked away.

1920's HOME ALIVE AND BRIGHTER THAN EVER

Bet you didn't expect this front elevation from the photos of the inside?? That's what makes design so spectacular. Making a space fabulously surprising is key. Because of this home's pacific flair I had to share. Designer Annie Werden's use of color and textures in this beautiful home just makes my heart race. It's exactly the kind of style I get in to. Completely put together and incredibly interesting yet cozy and 'lived in' looking.
